  8. Hayes Announces Communications Software Upgrade

  10. Smartcom II for the Macintosh®

  12. Atlanta, GA--August 24, 1990--Hayes Microcomputer Products, Inc. recently
  13. announced a communications software upgrade for Smartcom II for the Macintosh
  14. to Version 3.2.   In addition to new features, this version has been enhanced
  15. to support the 38.4 Kbps capability of Hayes V-series ULTRA Smartmodem 9600
  16. (ULTRA 96™) and to provide optional user control of computer to modem port
  17. speeds.

  19. Smartcom II for the Macintosh Version 3.2 now supports the ZMODEM file transfer
  20. protocol.   "Auto-receive" support for MacBinary and ZMODEM file transfer
  21. protocols allows users to send files to an unattended remote system.  When
  22. printing, users can now control filtering of form feed characters as well as
  23. specify lines per page and columns per line.  New transparent printing features
  24. include formatting commands for character per inch spacing, as well as
  25. superscript and subscript characters (VT102/52 printer command support).  The
  26. software also allows user control over filtering when capturing data or sending
  27. text.  This version also supports international keyboards.

  34. Smartcom II for the Macintosh Version 3.2 upgrades are available for $25.
  35. Customers can purchase the upgrade through Hayes Customer Service at
  36. 404/441-1617.  Customers who have purchased their software after 1 March 1990
  37. can receive the upgrade free of charge.
